Suspended between the Chianti hills and nearby Florence, Villa Vallombrosa is an estate of rare beauty, where history, nature and hospitality come together in perfect harmony. With its 53 hectares of fields, woods and olive groves, this ancient 18th-century residence offers guests an authentic Tuscan experience: the scent of freshly pressed oil, the silence of cypress trees, the slow pace of days immersed in the countryside.
Once a noble residence, the villa is now a refined farmhouse with 35 apartments and 85 beds, housed in three carefully restored historic buildings. Each room preserves the signs of the past - wooden beams, terracotta floors, stone walls - juxtaposed with modern comforts that make your stay pleasant and relaxing.
The main villa, the beating heart of the estate, welcomes guests in a warm and authentic atmosphere. Here are the main apartments, the reception and the ancient cellars where the oil produced on the estate rests. Next door, the restaurant celebrates Tuscan cuisine with dishes prepared with local ingredients and the intense aroma of Chianti Rufina.
Two farmhouses complete the accommodation part: one houses the owners' residence and six guest apartments, the other accommodates twelve independent units surrounded by greenery. All the accommodations tell of the elegant simplicity of rural life, amid vine pergolas and views that are lost among olive groves and woods.
The 18th-century aristocratic chapel, cosy and bright, gives the estate a touch of spirituality and romance, making it an ideal location for weddings and events.
Outside, the villa's historic garden opens into a harmonious design of pathways, flower beds and terracotta benches, perfect for breathing in the quiet of the countryside. Nearby, a panoramic swimming pool with whirlpool, a sports field and playground complete the picture of a rejuvenating stay for young and old alike.
The agricultural soul of the estate is expressed in the large 18-hectare olive grove with more than 5,000 trees of the Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo varieties: every year about 4,500 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil IGP Colline di Firenze are produced, the result of a respectful and genuine processing. The woods and chestnut groves surrounding the villa offer wood, honey and trails to explore, while industrious bees produce acacia, chestnut and millefiori honeys.
Since 2014, Villa Vallombrosa has been certified organic, and all farming is conducted according to sustainable criteria. A photovoltaic system provides much of the electricity, and a biomass boiler heats the rooms using wood from the forests.
Villa Vallombrosa is more than an estate: it is a place of the soul, where time slows down and every detail tells of the most authentic Tuscany. Between its ancient walls and the scent of new oil, every stay becomes a memory to take with you, an invitation to rediscover the simple beauty of life.
